And where's the listing for Ogunquit Beach which is the most beautiful beach in the Northeast!

Staten Island has beaches, too. Maybe not 4-star beaches, but beaches and a boardwalk and surf and everything.

Any clean beach listing that doesn't include Assateague Beach at Chincoteague, Virginia certainly isn't comprehensive or complete.

Why not include the Great Lakes? Pollution is of considerable concern there also. The Oswego River, one of the most polluted rivers in the country, flows into Lake Ontario at Oswego, NY. Is it safe to swim in those conjoining waters? Dr. Carlton Salvagin

I agree with Arnell. Poorly designed and time consuming to reach any real conclusions. However, I do think the project has merit, just needs to be revised.

Wow this website is awful! These are the people we are counting on to protect us? I saw Ms. Stoner on CSPAN just now and wanted to check Coney Island quickly so I went to this site and I've had to mess around for 10 min. only to find that the info I seek is so inaccessible and so poorly expressed I've wasted my time. Vry frstrtng. Clrly a lot of $ and tme wnt into the site bt they've gt it all bckwards. The #1 thng pple will cme for is to chck their bch- it should tke 10 secs not 10 mins. You've gt to opn a PDF navgte to your ste by scrolling then bk to the header to fgure out what column is for what- that's if you can line them up accurately then the star rating- you need a color chart to figure that one out! Cn't believe smone actually thinks this site makes sense

Wildwood Crest & Ocean City Md. Our favorites. Guess we are spoiled. Close, somewhat inexpensive, comfortable. Atlantic City SUX...BUMBS! We understand the concern about the Ocean! Also, why is PA, NJ Dump? Everyone should clean up their own area!
